With this New Airport, we have come with 5 main principals.And, 1st is reflecting natural beauty of Palawan into “Global Icon”, thus, adopting flowline of underwater river, which is Palawan’s highlight and one of seven natural wonders in the world and using Eyes of the Peacock’s feather as a motif for the roof design. The 2nd principal is that our new airport is surpassing the international standard of technology. Our total building area of 13,050 m2 is forecasted capacity for year 2020 and it’s 5% larger than PS &P requirement, which isadequate during peak time assuming of 660 people. The 3rd Principal is providing safety and comfort to travelers. We have followed Accessibility Laws of Philippine to designed barrier free new airport and wheel chair access is possible atsecurity check point and also, adopting Universal Design to it. The 4th Principal is achieving the top level eco-friendly airport. The 4 zone areas of Well-wish Hall, Welcoming Hall, Check-in Lounge, and Baggage Claim Area will be utilizing passive system during cooler season, therefore saving of 13% of annul energyconsumption. The 5th Principal is the new airport to have flexible floor plan for future utilization. Our design is accommodate the future capacity increase ofyear 2040. Approximately of 9,000 m2 of land is allocated for Passenger Terminal to expandable to 28,000 m2. Final Principal factor is applying safety featuresand construction methods to consider local conditions for the structural systemand roof to maximize construct ability.
